From Struggle to Strength
Moammal, a compassionate charity project founded by Kaniz Shah, the owner of Silk & Stone, is dedicated to empowering women in Pakistan who are victims of domestic violence and abuse. In a country where 93% of women face violence and 70% suffer from domestic abuse, many women remain trapped in these harmful environments due to a lack of education, awareness, and resources. Moammal aims to break this cycle by providing these women with the support and opportunities they need to rebuild their lives. Through education, vocational training, and resources, Moammal helps women regain their independence and self-worth, ensuring they no longer have to sacrifice their health and well-being for their children. Join us in making a meaningful difference and helping these resilient women achieve a brighter, safer future.
Meet the Instructors
Kaniz Shah As a successful business owner and designer, I have had the privilege of helping numerous local entrepreneurs transform their struggling businesses into thriving enterprises. From designing captivating spaces to creating impactful marketing platforms, I leverage my diverse skills to drive success. My true passion lies in empowering individuals to fulfill their dreams, no matter how daunting they may seem. The most exhilarating challenge for me is assisting those who feel they have nothing, starting small and guiding them to achieve their biggest aspirations. Seeing their growth and success is the ultimate reward, and it’s what fuels my dedication to making a difference. With a bachelor's degree in apparel design and a lifetime of sewing skills, I founded Moammal to help women achieve their financial goals and regain stability when life seems overwhelming. I conduct virtual classes and visit Pakistan annually to provide hands-on instruction that can't be easily conveyed through videos.

Rehana Bibi Before joining Moammal, I ran a home-based business specializing in intricate embroidery and gota (traditional ribbon) work. As a woman and mother of three, I struggled to earn enough to support my children, and cultural restrictions prevented me from working outside my home or exploring opportunities in my town. With limited resources, I faced numerous obstacles that hindered my ability to improve, evolve, and build my confidence. I am immensely grateful to Kaniz for providing me with the opportunity to learn, grow, and confront challenges that once seemed insurmountable. I never imagined I could escape domestic violence and become as strong as I am today. Now, I find great joy in helping other women transform their lives as I have transformed mine. I hope to use my skills and talents to continue supporting women in need, empowering them to overcome their own challenges and build better futures.
